CQ Politics: Huelskamp on the Pledge
June 1, 2009
In a larger article profiling the candidates in the 2010 race for the Kansas 1st congressional district, State Senator Tim Huelskamp was rightly credited with signing the pledge.
He has taken a vocal stand in opposition to the cap-and-trade legislation that President Obama has proposed to reduce carbon emissions by industrial and energy plants. Huelskamp became the first Kansan currently running in a U.S. House race to sign the “No Climate Tax Pledge,” created by the conservative group Americans for Prosperity, which opposes “legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”
