Andy Barr (KY-06): Why I signed the No Climate Tax Pledge

Friends,

The Cap and Trade energy tax is an issue that helps demonstrate the big difference between me and my opponent in the upcoming election. I am against it, my opponent voted for it.

This national energy tax would be disastrous for Kentucky’s economy. Experts agree that Cap and Trade will destroy jobs and cause electric rates to almost double. At a time when our unemployment is near 10%, this is not what we need.

Today, I signed Americans for Prosperity’s No Climate Tax Pledge. As your next Congressman, I pledge “to oppose any legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”

One of Kentucky’s great economic advantages is our affordable energy prices. Keeping our energy prices low will help bring jobs to the Commonwealth and put people back to work. I hope you join me in opposing Cap and Trade.

Sincerely,

Andy Barr
