League of Conservation Voters Distorts No Climate Tax Pledge
October 18, 2010
The League of Conservation Voters has joined other Leftist organizations by distorting Americans for Prosperity’s No Climate Tax pledge. The League is running political attack ads in Nevada claiming that candidate Joe Heck is against “clean energy jobs” because he signed the pledge. But of course the pledge has nothing to do with so-called green jobs; it’s about growing government under the guise of environmental concern.
Why is it that no one on the Left can conceive of any way to solve problems without transferring control to Washington and growing government?
Furthermore, No Climate Tax pledge signers understand that the small amount of subsidized jobs that a big government program will create is minuscule next to the amount that an energy tax will destroy.
Americans for Prosperity is pro-jobs of any kind, so long as they can exist in the market free from massive government subsidies or mandates that we consume the product they produce. Joe Heck’s signature really means he’s for sustainable solid private sector jobs, as opposed to jobs that are dependent on handouts from Washington.
